The Land Of Opportunity is an attitude

It is
an openness to new ideas,
a willingness to listen,
an eagerness to learn,
a desire to grow,
and the flexibility to change.

From “A Peacock in the Land of Penguins” by Barbara “BJ” Hateley.

(Page 4)

Releasing the potential of people.

Every company invests in people, but just how do you realise the full potential of that investment?

How do you ensure that those who work for your company want to work there? Is there a way to inspire a can do attitude which permeates your whole corporate culture? Is it possible to discover the deepest depths of motivation which will result in every individual in the company contributing like never before, and fulfilling themselves in the process?

At TMI we believe all these goals can be answered. We believe because we’ve seen it accomplished time and time again, in companies from virtually every market sector, both large corporations and private organisations.

TMI offer a learning solution for achieving a transformed working culture which we’ve been refining for over twenty five years, and we’d be the first to admit we’re still learning ourselves. That’s because our primary focus is on a resource that’s infinitely complex and potentially infinitely rewarding. The individual.

(Page 5)

The TMI difference

TMI are not like other consultancies. The extent of our concentration upon releasing the power in people to benefit themselves and your company is unique.

It’s also uniquely suited to the commercial realities of the 21st century. Technological change, increasing customer expectations and the erosion of traditional career paths means that people need to be open to change and challenges like never before.

Unless you can help your people focus their energies and unite around a shared vision, the times ahead could be tough. Through TMI’s carefully evolved programmes, we have the ability to instil a new vitality and purpose at every level of your organisation, from the boardroom to the broom cupboard if necessary.

All our solutions are based around your specific business goals and aim to help you achieve industry-leading performance. And all solutions are also based around a proven strategy we call the 4I’s, which are Investigation, Inspiration, Implementation and Integration.

(Page 6)

A wholly individual approach

No effective consultancy can ignore the fact that it’s not organisations that change, but individuals. Every company is a living organism composed of all its people.

There’s no difficulty paying lip-service to these ideals, but at TMI we go far beyond that. We turn change through individuals into a reality, and here are the kind of benefits that result – increased productivity, improved customer relations and a better quality of life for everybody, both at work and beyond.

We achieve this through Investigation: achieving a thorough understanding and audit of your organisation’s specific needs. Inspiration: winning commitment from your people through our fresh and exciting approach. Implementation: keeping every level of management and staff focussed on the key steps and objectives. Integration: working with people to understand how to make systems work properly.

These are the 4I’s in action.

(Pages 7,8 & 9)

Consultancy

Ideologies are a luxury unless they can be realised in practical terms. TMI have a range of specific consultancy commodities, designed to tackle the precise requirements of contemporary business culture.

Achieving change

Mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, downsizing, rapid growth or market re-alignment – these are common experiences of many businesses today.

Where culture change and change management is required, TMI have a number of positive solutions, ranging from instilling a performance culture to improving customer service, from achieving a leaner manufacturing process to improving supply chain management.

Instilling vision

One of the biggest challenges is effectively communicating your corporate vision and values, and maintaining focus on them throughout the company.

TMI can help you succeed through workshop-based programmes for every appropriate individual, designed to gain commitment to the vision, assist with understanding and acceptance, and provide a realisation of how it can be put into active use for improved performance.
Executing strategies

Plans and strategies are essential to every business, but they can be easier to conceive than to implement.

This is where TMI can provide highly effective programmes to ensure managers and key teams are fully on-board with the tools and understanding they need to turn theory into everyday practise.

Maximising people-performance

Human Resource Management systems need to be integrated with your corporate vision and values if they are to be effective.

We have expert knowledge of such process as performance management, learning and competency development, training needs analysis, and so on – in fact the full range of HR systems which we can help your people apply for maximum organisational gain.

Measuring precisely

If you want a truly objective assessment of your people, it obviously needs the involvement of a professional and unprejudiced third-party. TMI have the right tools, objectivity and experience to help.

Our own tools, which have been developed over twenty five years, include our Quality Culture Audit and Energy Metre. We can also refer to benchmarking data from individual industry sectors. You can benefit from an accurate evaluation of personal attitudes, departmental strengths and values to implement efficiencies based on knowledge.

Facing the future

Technology has impacted hugely on businesses, not just internally but also in Customer Relationship Management. Changing work patterns also mean that individuals can easily feel uncertain about the future and how to deal with it.

The TMI approach is to equip people with both the attitude and the understanding they need to approach the future positively. Our programmes are designed to build confidence in implementing modern technology and help with the new world of customer relations and career building.

Building the brand

The brand should be more than a logo, rather a way of life. The most successful companies are those whose brand values interfuse every aspect of their operation, be it product or people, processes or services.

Through conferences, workshops and tool development, TMI can help your organisation define the core brand values and then apply them. When the brand becomes one with the corporate culture your customers will experience a consistent quality of service, loyalty and identification no competitor can rival.

(Pages 10 & 11)

Towards new personal horizons

At the heart of TMI is our desire to excel in helping people acquire new skills, new motivation and new confidence.

That’s why our consultants are full-time members of our own company, steeped in the TMI ethos of inspiring through example. Participants in our learning programmes – whether they take ninety minutes at work or five days away, whether it’s an open or bespoke programme – experience a level of involvement, energy, teamwork and simple fun which we believe is second to none.

What’s more, our learning programmes are designed for a lasting influence. Because they are engaging and impactful they are memorable. But more than that, we can ensure through diagnostic research that they perform a vital role for the individual and the company. Plus we can involve management and senior teams to build on the new attitudes acquired through the programmes.

Every TMI learning programme is designed to have an influence far beyond the immediate.

Learning

We employ whatever methods best suit the learning goal – from short in-company workouts to one or two day workshops, from residential programmes to focus groups and seminars. We also utilise the full range of media, including face to face interaction, textbooks and distance learning, web and computer based resources. Here are examples of the major areas we cover.

A world of experience

TMI’s presence, in terms of people, ideas and resources, is worldwide. Originating in Denmark over twenty-five years ago, the company now operates in more than thirty countries.

Our offices stretch from Europe to Asia, from Australia to the US. For our clients this means they have all the benefits of a local office, but can also draw on cross-cultural and multi-lingual knowledge if required.

Wherever you find TMI, however, there is one thing which unites our approach to consultancy – our belief in the potential of people. Ambitions, ideals and desires unite us all.

TMI see little or no discrepancy between what benefits the corporate world and what benefits the personal world – the human component is at the heart of each. The fulfilment of the individual is inextricably linked to the success of the company.

Chagala Group Corporate Brochure

Innovative. International.  Inspired.

The Chagala Group. Welcome to a new era of opportunity.

[Visual: maybe a montage]

(Page 4 & 5)

The seeds of success

A brand new company in a newly independent country – that was Chagala just over a decade ago.

Today that country, Kazakhstan, is taking its place alongside the great emerging economies of the world, and the Chagala Group is growing with it, inextricably linked to the vast potential of oil and gas reserves.

We were among the first in the country to realise that it was time to think internationally. We understood that the developing industries in our changing nation would attract investment and workers from across the globe.

It was time to seize this unique opportunity. We began building hotels whose standards would equal those anywhere in the world, a home from home for the new visitors to our country.

Today, we are recognised as the providers of hotels, serviced apartments, office space and retail outlets in all the major industrial and commercial centres of Kazakhstan. By being first, we have gained a place in the marketplace which has almost limitless possibilities.

(Pages 6 & 7)

Khazakstan. One of the world’s most exciting new economies.

Few people are aware that Kazakhstan has the second fastest growing economy in the world in real terms. It has been a quiet revolution, but it will not be long before the rest of the world wakes up to the reality of Kazakhstan’s vast resources and almost limitless potential.

For much of the twentieth century Kazakhstan was a Soviet Republic, but since declaring its independence at the end of 1991 there has been an opportunity to start realising the wealth contained in the country’s deposits of oil, gas, titanium, magnesium, tin, uranium, and gold.

These represent some of the biggest deposits anywhere on the globe, and since 1993 they have attracted most of the over $40 billion of foreign investment in the country.

The oil and gas industries are located around the Caspian in West Kazakhstan, and explorations have shown that the deposits on the shore are only a small part of a huge oil deposit. The overall estimate of Kazakhstan’s oil deposits is 6.1 billion tons. It is in the west of the country that most of the Chagala Group developments are strategically located.

A long tradition of trade and commerce

As an important stop on the Great Silk Route, Kazakhstan’s history is steeped in trade and an international outlook. Originally nomads, the spirit of individualism, open friendliness and enterprise survives in the Kazakh character to the present day.

For the visitor, whether on business or pleasure, there is a great deal to discover in this relatively unspoilt country. Several outstanding monuments from Kazakhstan’s rich cultural past have survived in the form of burial mounds, sites of ancient settlements, fortifications, mausoleums and even whole towns.

This is also a place of vast, impressive steppes and fertile lowlands that provide the agricultural backbone which still represents a significant sector of the Kazakhstan economy.

(Pages 8 & 9)

The Chagala Group today.

The success of the Chagala Group exactly mirrors the dynamic economic success of Kazakhstan as a whole.

And of course this is no accident!

Immediately after independence, Chagala’s management were aware that Kazakhstan was destined to be a land of opportunity. In 1995, two hotels were opened in the west of the country where the oil boom was just beginning at Atyrau and Uralsk.

These hotels have never looked back, and neither has the group as a whole. Since 2000, our growth rate has been a remarkable 30% per annum. We have invested continually, aware that there is an ever-expanding need by the oil and gas industry for high quality accommodation, food and leisure, office space and retail facilities, and have established lasting and mutually beneficial contracts with many of the leading oil companies.

A sustainable success story.

Since our beginnings we have expanded and diversified greatly. Today we can boast significantly expanded hotels and serviced apartments, existing or planned, for five separate cities. We have already built over fifteen thousand square metres of office space and acquired extensive land banks in strategic locations.

No other real estate company in Kazhakstan has been so responsive to the needs of the emerging industries. No other company has such in-depth understanding of the country, combining local knowledge with global management expertise.

Above all, no other company has so quickly established itself as the first choice of leading oil and gas companies like Agip KCO, BH and KBR. Our promise is to service them to the standards of excellence they have come to expect from the Chagala Group in the knowledge that we can continue to grow and thrive together.

(Pages 10 & 11)

Growing assets in all the major centres of Kazakhstan.

[Suggest property pics and location maps similar to centre spread of existing brochure]

Chagala’s success is based on offering the right accommodation and leisure services in exactly the right locations. By providing local facilities to international standards, we have attracted clients from all over the world. This is a service need that is guaranteed to grow. We have acquired substantial real estate which is currently under the process of planning and development.

(Pages 12 & 13)

The window of opportunity is wide open

With demand for western standard accommodation in Kazakhstan set to grow at over 25% per annum for the foreseeable future, the Chagala Group is in the perfect position to respond.

First, our long term presence in the market means we are established and knowledgeable. Secondly, we are continually increasing our land bank in targeted areas and have financing in place, which means we can react quickly, sensitively and effectively.

To help us become even more responsive and expand through diversification, we will be increasing the number of divisions in our group. Today, the group consists of Chagala Facilities Management and Chagala Construction, and these will soon be joined by a number of specialised entities, including Chagala Franchising, Chagala Remote Site Servicing and Chagala Trans Caspian.

Seeing the potential, maximizing the potential.

It’s hard to exaggerate the potential for growth in West Kazakhstan. The major proportion of the Kazak sector of the Caspian Sea is still to be allocated to oil companies for development.

As companies such as Exxon-Mobil, Shell, Total and CNPC take up their allocated blocks, their need for employee accommodation, administrative facilities, leisure and retail will escalate.

Right now there is a huge market opportunity to anticipate and respond to the needs of these internationals. There is also a growing middle class in Kazakhstan itself who are going to be increasing users of Chagala’s facilities.

From the $150 million additional development of our land bank in Atyrau to the phased introduction of a large Residential and Office Park in Bautino, we have a whole range of projects in the pipeline. And this is only the beginning…

(Pages 14 & 15)

A Kazakhstan based company with a western outlook

Throughout the Chagala Group, we are very aware that sustainable growth is inseparable from market demand. Our standards are set by the expectations of our clients – hence we undertake independent market research to make sure the design and planning is right. We employ a western urban planner with the relevant experience, as well as talented interior designers. And when it comes to construction, quality control is paramount with mainly imported materials used to western quality specifications.

This insistence on excellence extends to all facilities, services and maintenance. From redeveloping existing hotels to keeping offices clean, our facilities management division is continually active and committed to customer satisfaction.

(Pages 16 & 17)

Building a dynamic future on firm foundations.

From the very beginning it has been the Chagala philosophy to look to the long term prosperity of the group and all those associated with it.

Our management team is a mix of local expertise combined with in-depth international knowledge of the service industry. Senior members of the team all have a direct interest in the company, whilst key personnel are retained through incentives and personal motivation.

With over 600 employees, the majority of them Kazakhstani, we have the staff in place at every level working and committed to the on-going success of this native company.

Local knowledge, global expertise

The fact that the Chagala Group was born in Kazakhstan is an important element in its future This is a unique part of the world which requires a company on the ground and working with the people to provide the kind of hospitality and service expected by international visitors, not to mention an increasingly sophisticated national population.

In fact, we combine the best of both worlds – local knowledge with global know-how – which means we are perfectly positioned to calculate risk and identify genuine opportunities as they arise. Our stated aim is to be innovative, responsible developers, creating a positive legacy for future generations and totally committed to the principles of sustainable development throughout our business.
